HVAC Systems:

  • Office and classrooms served by 2 Trane rooftop VAV units
  • Air distribution mains were segregated to accomodate disparate tenant uses on north and south wings
  • IT server room served by Mitsubishi split system unit
  • Communicating electronic direct digital controls system with on-site monitoring, color graphic package, Lon Works integration

 

Energy Saving Strategies:

  • Variable speed drives on supply and relief fans save energy
  • Direct digital controls provide accurate temperature control, minimizing drift and over shoot while providing comfort and energy savings
  • ECM motors used on new fan terminals to save energy

 

System Benefit/Goals:

  • Dedicated split system AC unit for the Server room, fan powered terminal unit back-up from main AC system
  • ECM motors on all new fan terminal units
  • Acoustical considerations maintain quiet in classroom areas
  • Reuse of existing fan terminal units resulted in cost saving costs for the owner
