HVAC Systems :

  • Standard temperature VAV system utilizing (1) Trane 40 ton packaged Voyager VAV Unit
  • Series fan powered VAV boxes with silent mercury contactors (Terminal boxes use electric heat)
  • Dedicated toilet exhaust fans ducted out sidewall, interlocked with restroom light switch including time delay relay
  • 100% airside economizers

Energy Saving Strategies:

  • Efficient scroll compressors
  • High efficiency supply fan motors
  • Direct digital controls provide accurate temperature control, minimizing drift and overshoot

System Benefit/Goals:

100% airside economizers are used for maximum cooling efficiency: the system will only operate in its ‘minimum outside air mode’ (20 CFM/person at 1 person/150 ft2) when outside ambient temperatures exceed 76o to 78oF. At ambient temperatures below 76o to 78oF and above 55oF the system operates on 100% outside air. At temperatures below 55oF the system will mix outside air with return air to maintain a discharge temperature of 55oF.
