Puget Sound Energy Tenant Improvement

  • 100,000 ft2 Tenant Improvement of floors 8-12 in the PSE Building

Site Location:

Team:

  • HVAC - PSF Mechanical, Inc.

HVAC Systems:

  • Medium temperature variable air volume (VAV) systems utilizing two rooftop units
  • Series type VAV terminal boxes with silent mercury contactors; terminal boxes use electric heat at all perimeter
  • Communicating electronic direct digital controls system
  • Central toilet exhaust systems utilizing quiet utility-set type rooftop centrifugal fans
  • Raised curb sound attenuating system at rooftop units
  • Water cooled Liebert Units were used to cool the IT room
  • Water source Mammoth Heat Pumps were used to cool the communications room

Energy Saving Strategies:

  • ECM motors on the Nailor Fit Boxes
  • Waterside economizers were provided with the computer room units and the heat pumps
  • Direct Digital Controls provide accurate temperature control, minimizing drift, and overshoot; heating signals are "pulsed" to exactly match load requirements
